PDX Weightlifting is Moving!

On March 15th – Everything Changes

I have an announcement that is VERY exiting. PDX Weightlifting is moving into it’s own brand new space in just a few short weeks.  This means we’ll have 4 new platforms, new bars, new bumpers, TRX, Kettlebells … the works. Everything you need to perform at your highest level.

Case in point: the Platforms.  One of my athletes, Trevor, has taken it upon himself to make the sexiest platforms known to man.  Look at the pic below … it’s not even finished yet, and it looks like something you can eat off of!

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that moving into this space increases my overhead and expenses something fierce. And because of that, when we open, I have no choice but to raise my rates for all new members. I’m always reluctant to do so, because I want to be accessible to as many hard working serious athletes as possible.

But, you gotta be able to pay the bills … Don’t worry! I have more GOOD news.

Those rates are not going up until March 15th

What does that mean for you?

If you sign up now, and start training with us while we’re still over at Loprinzi’s gym, then you will keep the old rates FOR LIFE. As long as you stay current with your membership with PDX Weightlifting, your rates will never go up … ever.

This means that you get full access to the new facility, and all of the great coaching, training, and environment you’d expect from PDX Weightlifting for MUCH less than you will if you wait.

Think about it. You can either join now, and save a good chunk of change every single month … or, you can wait on the fence, and pay more later.

That’s an EASY decision in my book!

Whether you are an athlete or someone who realizes the importance of training like one, this is a MAJOR opportunity that you don’t want to pass up.

OK … so a bit more bad news. (I know, I HATE bad news!)

I can only accommodate so many people right now before we open. The REASON we’re moving is because of space issues. I love Loprinzi’s gym, (who wouldn’t? They have globe dumbbells for heaven’s sake!) but with only 2 platforms and limited space, I just can’t accommodate the volume of athletes that I can in the new place.

What this means for you is that I have only so many slots available for this massive sale price.

Again, it all ends on March 15th

Then we’ll rise like a phoenix! And I want YOU to be a part of it.

Now go lift something Heavy,

Nick Horton

We’re off to the Russ Knipp Weightlifting Championships tomorrow morning bright and early.  It’ll be Me, Roy, Chris, Celia, and Noel competing this time.

Leslie is both driving us down and taking video, so she’s doing the hard part!

Wish us luck!

Aaron, Chris, and I are all planning on competing this coming Saturday in the Portland Highland Games.  Should be  a rockin’ good time.  We’re all Newbies, so I’m planning on looking rediculous … but what else is new?!  I have a new sport kilt to replace my old wool one (who wants to workout in wool?).  Should be great.

Highland Games is a rockin’ sport, but it certainly favors the big guys (like the dude in the picture).  None of us are that.  But, as Olympic Weightlifters we ARE explosive, strong, and athletic.  That should help.

Oregon Weightlifters Rock Nationals

Sarah Bertram and Jessica Gee got 1st in the 69’s and 4th in the 63’s, respectively, at Nationals this year.  Both of them are from here in Oregon.

Both are also coached by Tom Hirtz, a legend in his own right.  My club competes against their club all the time, and it’s fantastic to see the two of them doing so well.  They both work extremely hard, and are genuinely cool people.  Congratulations!

Here’s a news story about them from KEZI news Eugene, OR. It includes shot of them practicing, and interviews.
