Here’s an article by John Berardi on upping your workout load to lose body fat … ie, up your workout so you don’t have to watch your calories.  That’s what I’m talking about.

Thank you to Tom Hirtz for putting the following together. We had a great time. It was Adam’s first contest and he hit a lot of great lifts. Good job Adam! Amy, Aaron and myself also competed. Thanks to ironworks gym for putting the contest on. We appreciate it.

November at Mikes Gym: Clearly Not in Portland

Well, in addition to the good training, it’s nice to see all the sunshine.  I’ll tell you what, you ain’t gonna see us outside sitting around in lawn chairs during November up here in Portland!  We’d be soaking wet and suffering from frost bite!

Don’t forget!  the Russ Knipp Weightlifting Championships are coming up this Saturday in Creswell, Oregon.  Get your entry forms HERE.

2008 Olympic Weightlifting Preview, Beijing

Get ready.  the Beijing Olympics are nearly here.

Natalie Woolfolk Training Video: Amazing Speed!

Natalie Woolfolk is hands down one of America’s greatest Olympic Weightlifters.

Oregon's Sarah Bertram 4th place in Nationals!

I’m a bit late on this, as this happened over a month ago, but Congratulations Sarah on a 4th place finish at Nationals.  She hit a 85k snatch, and a 98 clean and jerk for a 183k total!!

Here’s a Youtube video of her kickin’ ass back in 2006.  This girl’s on her way to the top.

Some great lifting from cats like Casey Burgener, Natalie Woolfolk, etc.  Even a surprise split clean!

But the 24-Hour Fitness banner in the background makes me want to puke.  No gym chain in the country has done LESS to help Olympic Weightlifting than 24-hour fitness.  When was the last time you saw a lifting platform and bumpers at 24-hour?

Derrick 4D Johnson 110k Snatch

62 kilo’s of power!
